Indiana State Police Troopers Recognized at Drive Sober Top Cop Awards

Several Indiana State Police troopers assigned to the Lafayette District were recognized for their outstanding commitment to traffic safety during the Drive Sober 2025 Top Cop Awards, held April 27 at the Public Safety Center in Lafayette.

The annual awards program, organized by Drive Sober, Inc., honors officers for their dedication to operating while intoxicated enforcement and their continued efforts to remove impaired drivers from Indiana roadways.

Troopers recognized from the Indiana State Police Lafayette District included:

  • Trooper Bradley Howell – 89 OWI arrests
  • Trooper Zachary Grundell – 61 OWI arrests
  • Trooper Mitchell McKinney – 55 OWI arrests
  • Trooper Gage Walters – 26 OWI arrests
  • Trooper Brandon Howell – 22 OWI arrests
  • Trooper Devin Walsh – 22 OWI arrests
  • Trooper Francisco Miramontes – 20 OWI arrests
  • Trooper Garrett Schroder – 20 OWI arrests

Collectively, troopers assigned to the Lafayette District made 423 OWI arrests in 2025, reflecting a strong and proactive commitment to impaired driving enforcement across the Lafayette District.

“These troopers have demonstrated a relentless commitment to keeping our communities safe,” said Lieutenant McKee, Lafayette District Commander. “Every impaired driver removed from the road is a potential life saved. Their proactive enforcement and dedication to this mission make a real difference across Tippecanoe County and beyond.”

The Indiana State Police also extend congratulations to all officers and deputies from local agencies who were honored during the ceremony. Their collective efforts reflect a unified commitment among law enforcement to improve roadway safety and address impaired driving throughout the region.
