Putting his city management experience to work for Frankfort, Jason Forsythe announces his intent to run for Mayor of Frankfort, Indiana in the upcoming May 2027 Primary. Forsythe is committed to bringing new businesses to The Gem City, growing existing economic opportunities and enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
Forsythe is the Director of Public Works in Whitestown, Indiana overseeing the Street Department, Wastewater Department, Inspection Team and Facilities Maintenance Team. In Whitestown he has established cross-functional safety committees for accountability, managed the water sale transition for residents, implemented plow tracking technology to improve operations, added weather cameras to support real-time decision making and works hand in hand with city leaders to serve in the overall economic growth.
Previously, Forsythe served Frankfort as the Street Department Superintendent for ten years and was the interim Parks Superintendent three times. As the Parks Superintendent, Forsythe vetted numerous companies and partners in overseeing the final budget and construction of Sapphire Bay Aquatic Center for the TPA Park in 2023. While serving as the Street Department Superintendent, he garnered over $13M in Federal Funding/LPA Grants, reached almost $2M in Community Crossing Matching Grant dollars, spearheaded Safe Routes to Schools, automated trash pickup, worked with INDOT on numerous projects, worked with Purdue University on LTAP training for the department among other notable accomplishments.
“The time has come for me to use my knowledge, experience, relationships and leadership skills to enhance and improve my hometown. Frankfort can be strengthened as an attractive community where families want to live, we can attract major corporations to create new jobs and our residents can enjoy a vibrant quality of life,” Forsythe said.
