Indiana Governor Mike Braun today announced that the Indiana Energy Saver Program (IESP) has advanced nearly $20 million in residential energy-efficiency investments across Indiana during its first six months of active construction, helping more than 1,200 Hoosier households reduce energy costs, improve home comfort, and strengthen housing affordability.
Program investments are expected to generate nearly $400,000 in recurring annual utility bill savings, providing lasting benefits for households and communities throughout the state.
The milestone reflects the growing impact of Indiana’s statewide effort to help residents lower energy costs through practical energy-saving improvements and is a key component of the Governor’s focus on strengthening affordability in all 92 Hoosier counties.
“Reducing utility costs is one of the best ways we can improve affordability for Hoosier families,” Governor Braun said. “The Indiana Energy Saver Program is delivering practical solutions and producing meaningful results for families and communities.”
Income-qualified homeowners and multifamily property owners are encouraged to apply for the Indiana Energy Saver Program. To get started, applicants provide basic information about their property, household income, and utility usage as part of their online application. Once a complete application is received, the program reviews the applicant provided documentation for eligibility, schedules a free energy audit, and works directly with participants to identify opportunities to reduce energy costs and improve home comfort. The program then works with Indiana Energy Saver Program Qualified Contractors to develop and complete eligible improvements through the program process.
