Special Olympics Indiana will kick off its fall championship season on Saturday, August 15, with the equestrian state event at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds in Danville.
The equestrian competition will be the first of several fall season state championships taking place throughout Central Indiana. Athletes and their horses will compete during sessions from 10:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The 2026 fall championship schedule includes:
- August 15: Equestrian — Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds, Danville
- September 12: Softball — Center Grove Lassie League
- September 13: Golf — Hickory Stick Golf Club, Greenwood; Pickleball — The Picklr at Keystone Crossing
- October 4: Cornhole, Flag Football, Distance Run/Walk, and Soccer — Grand Park, Westfield
- November 21: Unified Volleyball — The Academy Volleyball Club, Indianapolis
Nearly 3,000 athletes and Unified partners are expected to participate in the fall championship events. Special Olympics Indiana is supported by more than 10,000 coaches and volunteers and serves more than 20,000 athletes and Unified partners statewide.
Through sports, Special Olympics Indiana works to create opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities while promoting inclusion, respect, and acceptance throughout communities.
All state championship events are free and open to the public. Media members are welcome to attend any of the tournaments.
