Applications are open until Aug. 31 for the next cohort of students to participate in Fever Confidence presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, a leadership program designed to empower high school senior girls in the greater Indianapolis area.
Fever Confidence, led by Pacers Sports & Entertainment, the Indiana Fever and the Marion County Commission on Youth (MCCOY), begins this fall and concludes with attendance at the Indiana Fever’s home opener in May 2027. Participants who successfully complete the program will also receive a $2,000 educational scholarship.
“We are proud to continue this program that is cultivating the skills for the next generation of leaders at such a pivotal point in their lives,” said Julie Roe Lach, PS&E EVP of external relations & community engagement. “I had the opportunity to attend the closing ceremony of our last cohort and could see the growth from their experiences will continue well into their futures. We’re excited to welcome another class to the program.”
The cohort will meet monthly throughout the school year, participating in skill-building activities, professional development sessions and service opportunities designed to prepare the participants for success beyond high school.

Beyond the learning opportunities the program provides, Fever Confidence participants will build meaningful, long-term connections with peers and mentors who will support and encourage their growth. Mentors to the group will include women leaders from the Indiana Fever, PS&E and other community and corporate leaders.

To be eligible, applicants must be current high school seniors who live in Marion County or one of the surrounding counties and have a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher. In addition, they must submit one letter of recommendation from an adult who knows them well, such as a teacher, coach, school counselor, employer, faith leader, volunteer supervisor or extracurricular advisor.
