The Jeffersonian Receives IHCDA’s Statewide Excellence in Affordable Housing Award

The Jeffersonian, an affordable senior housing development created by Homestead Resources and its partners, has received the 2026 Excellence in Affordable Housing Award in the Senior Category from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA).

The award was presented during the Indiana Housing Conference Awards Luncheon Wednesday, September 2, at the Downtown Indianapolis Marriott. Marie Morse, Executive Director of Homestead Resources, accepted the award on behalf of the development team.

“This award celebrates what can happen when committed partners come together around the vision for a community where everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to feel at home,” Morse said. “In addition to housing, The Jeffersonian provides seniors the stability, independence and sense of community they deserve.”

The Jeffersonian opened in December 2025 and was fully leased by March 2026, demonstrating the strong need for quality, affordable senior housing in Greater Lafayette.

The development provides older adults with an opportunity to remain connected to their community while living in a welcoming and affordable place they can call home.

The project was made possible through a collaboration among Homestead Resources, ALK Development, Stenz, Old National Bank and local government, along with other community partners.

“This statewide recognition belongs to every organization and team member who helped bring The Jeffersonian to life,” Morse said. “Together, we created a lasting community that will help seniors experience greater stability for years to come.”

The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority presents its Excellence in Affordable Housing Awards annually to recognize outstanding affordable housing developments serving urban, rural, senior and special needs populations throughout Indiana.
