The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Wind Advisory for portions of central, east central, north central and west central Indiana, including Boone County, until 8 p.m. Thursday evening. Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Strongest winds are expected mid-afternoon.
Besides Boone, other affected areas include Carroll, Clinton, Delaware, Fountain, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Madison, Marion, Montgomery, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion and Warren.
Motorists are urged to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Residents should also secure outdoor objects.
