Maximino Luis Hernandez, 77, of Frankfort, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette. He was born in Asuncion Ocotlan de Morelos, Oaxaca, Mexico on May 29, 1943 to Fidel Luis and Delfina Hernandez Aguilar. He married Margarita Antonio Ramirez in Asuncion, Oaxaca, Mexico; she survives.
Maximino had resided in Mexico, California, Oregon, and Florida before moving to Frankfort. He worked for Tyson Foods. He enjoyed drawing, fishing, hunting, and farming.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Sirano Luis Antonio, Felipe Luis Antonio, Maximino Luis Antonio, and Fidel Luis Antonio; daughters, Ines Luis (Carlos Venegas), Agustina Luis (Tereso Sanchez), Rufina Luis (Francisco Munoz), Cristina Luis (Miguel Flores), Margarita Luis, and Xochitl Luis; sisters, Cresencia Luis Hernandez, Elena Luis Hernandez, and Fidela Luis Hernandez; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rene Luis Antonio, and infant son; and three sisters, Cresencia Luis Hernandez, Elena Luis Hernandez, and Fidela Luis Hernandez.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 9 a.m. until the start of the funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
In adherence to the current CDC guidelines, it is requested that guests follow the appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks. Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort is entrusted with the arrangements.
