Starr Ann Payne, 62, of Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born in Rochester on September 12, 1958 to Joseph and Beulah (Satterfield) Lanum. She married Timothy Payne on February 14, 1996; he survives.
Starr graduated from Clinton Prairie High School in 1976. She worked for Clinton House before retiring from Frito Lay after 35 years of employment. She was a member of Lebanon Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Starr wanted everyone to know the following, “Some people are born by accident, but my parents looked for me. I have gone home after a very blessed life full of love with my children and grandchildren.”
Surviving with her husband, Tim, are her daughters, Anne (husband, Brian) Britt and Nicole Lanum, both of Frankfort, and Danee’ (husband, DJ) Graic of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Crystal Lanum of Gas City; and grandchildren, Xavier, Jazlyn, Liam, and Luka.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Chris Lanum; and sister, Jewell Pountney.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. A private funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Craig Howie officiating. In adherence to the current CDC guidelines, it is requested that guests follow the appropriate social distancing and the wearing of masks.
