The Boone County Indiana Fraternal Order of Police Richard G. Brown Memorial Lodge No. 110 has announced that the 24th Annual “Christmas with a Cop” program is now under way.
In 2020, over $55,000 was raised to provide more than 400 needy children, ages twelve (12) and under, with winter coats, shoes, boots, and clothing. Deputy Craig Fouts, Boone County FOP Lodge No. 110 President, said this year’s fundraising goal is $50,000. Deputy Fouts expects even more applications for the program to come in this year.
“This program is all about the philanthropic people and businesses of Boone County generously giving, to help other families of Boone County”, said Fouts. The entire fundraising effort for this program is done locally without the help of commercial groups. All of the money raised goes directly to Boone County children. Christmas with a Cop encourages a positive interaction between the children and law enforcement. Fouts added: “The program also brings with it the camaraderie of various police agencies in Boone County.”
Christmas with a Cop applications for participation are now available for pickup at the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Police Department, Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department, and/or the Zionsville Police Department . The completed applications should also be returned to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Police Department, Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department, and/or the Zionsville Police Department… Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. The completed applications must be returned no later than 4:00pm November 24.
