The Area Plan Commission unanimously agreed to pass the petition from Hardy Hills Solar Energy LLC of Chicago requesting approval of a minor subdivision containing the single lot of 15.91 acres of land on the east side on North County Road 0 East West in the A-1, Agricultural, Zoning District Tuesday night.
This means that Hardy Hills will be the sole tenant in the subdivision located in Union Township and commonly known as the 3700 block of North County Road 0 East West.
The APC also approved a new fee schedule.
“We realized that we just didn’t have one (fee) that was sufficient for the time and effort that would go into the staff’s involvement,” said APC President Jordan Brewer. “We now have switched to a $1,000 flat fee plus a megawatt fee which is $350 per megawatt.”
Brewer said the change would save about $68,000 in time and effort by the staff.
Hardy Hills Solar Energy will be the people building the new solar farm in Clinton County which should take about 14 months to complete.
