The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the I-65 southbound exit ramp (Exit 158) will temporarily close on or after Monday, April 10 at 8:00 p.m. The exit ramp, near Frankfort, will be closed for at least two nights of repair work. The actual dates of the closures will be dependent on weather conditions. The ramp is expected to reopen after 8:00 a.m. Saturday, April 15, weather permitting.
Also starting on or after Monday, April 10, there will be nightly restrictions on I-65 for a pavement patching operation between Lafayette and Lebanon. There will be nightly restrictions of the driving lane of I-65 northbound and southbound from mile marker 147 to mile marker 164. The exact location of the work will vary. There will be maximum work zone lengths of two-miles, with minimum gaps between consecutive work zones of four-miles. These restrictions are expected to last through mid-September, weather permitting.
The northbound restriction hours are as follows, weather permitting:
- 9:00 p.m. Sunday to 7:00 a.m. Monday
- 7:00 p.m. Monday to 7:00 a.m. Tuesday
- 7:00 p.m. Tuesday to 7:00 a.m. Wednesday
- 7:00 p.m. Wednesday to 7:00 a.m. Thursday
- 7:00 p.m. Thursday to 7:00 a.m. Friday
- 9:00 p.m. Friday to 8:00 a.m. Saturday
- 8:00 p.m. Saturday to 9:00 a.m. Sunday
The southbound restriction hours are as follows, weather permitting:
- 9:00 p.m. Sunday to 7:00 a.m. Monday
- 8:00 p.m. Monday to 7:00 a.m. Tuesday
- 8:00 p.m. Tuesday to 7:00 a.m. Wednesday
- 8:00 p.m. Wednesday to 7:00 a.m. Thursday
- 8:00 p.m. Thursday to 7:00 a.m. Friday
- 9:00 p.m. Friday to 8:00 a.m. Saturday
- 7:00 p.m. Saturday to 10:00 a.m. Sunday
This contract was awarded to Rieth Riley Construction for over $5.2 million. The entire contract is expected to be completed in October of 2023.
