State Sen. Brian Buchanan (R-Lebanon) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse who served as Senate pages in March and April.
- Kevin Dahlenburg, from Reynolds, attends North White High School
- Spencer Dunn, from Michigantown, attends Clinton Central High School
- Aiden Lester, from Thorntown, attends Western Boone Junior-Senior High School
- Nathan Lester, from Thorntown, attends Thorntown Elementary School
- Shani Momodu, from Brownsburg, attends Sycamore School
- Troy Wolters, from Lebanon, is a home schooled student
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the Senate floor and interacting with their state senator.
“The Senate Page Program provides students with a well-rounded educational experience as they tour the Statehouse and learn about the legislative process, which is why I encourage all young Hoosiers to participate,” Buchanan said. “This firsthand look at the legislative process is an experience unlike any other and lays a foundation of understanding you can’t get from solely sitting in a classroom.”
Students in grades six through 12 participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session. Groups serve on Wednesdays.
