The Healthy Communities of Clinton County mental health games and meets have officially concluded for the fall season, and the team is gearing up for the winter season of basketball.

The mental health games at Healthy Communities reached 30,000 people directly and indirectly through volleyball games and cross country meets, garnering 11 participating schools that spanned two states.

“Thank you to all the schools, coaches, participants, Youthrise for running the tables and Mulberry Telecommunications and ISC Network for broadcasting the games and talking about mental health,” Healthy Communities posted. “Thank you always to the Cooper family and Buck Up Foundation.”

Healthy Communities partnered with North Central Health Services and the Preventing Youth Suicide Initiative grant process to increase the awareness of the games and mental health resources.

This year’s fall season was sponsored in part by the Kicking the Stigma grant provided by the Indianapolis Colts.

Healthy Communities is currently gearing up to launch the next season of mental health games that will include basketball, and the four county schools alongside The Crossing have begun work on implementing improved suicide prevention, intervention and postvention policies with a grant through North Central Health Services to further the mental health awareness campaign locally in Clinton County. Stay tuned for information regarding the upcoming season as winter draws closer.
