Virginia Louise “Gennie” Small, 94, formerly of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024, at Brickyard Healthcare in Muncie. She was born October 7, 1929, in Lawrence County, Tennessee, one of eight children to the late William “Bud” and Gladice (Cox) Luffman.
On February 13, 1964, she was united in marriage to James D. “Jim” Small. They had shared 47 years together before his passing on September 29, 2011.
While living in Lebanon, she helped Jim operate Small’s Garage. After they moved to Muncie, Gennie held a membership with True Light Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Gennie took great pride in caring for her family and home. She loved to cook and enjoyed watching television.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia (David) Wallace of Yorktown; three grandchildren, Bryan (Mary) Hughes of Muncie, Kerri Davis of Selma, and Jonathan Hughes of Muncie; and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral Services are planned for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
Entombment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
