Lebanon Community School Corporation announced the March 2024 Tiger PRIDE Champions to celebrate the students that showcase persistence, respectfulness, initiative, dependability and efficiency in their daily schoolwork and extracurriculars.
According to Lebanon Schools, the students chosen as champions must be a student that is able to perservere through challenges and problem-solve, accept and demonstrate service to others, possess a positive attitude and communicate clearly, be a self-starter and critical thinker, demonstrate responsibility, teamwork and academic readiness and is organized, punctual and self-managing.
The March 2024 Tiger PRIDE recipients are Drew Reeves, Emily Sperry, Gabe Thieke, Emma Alexander, James Custis, Carson Goodrich, Steele Foster and Hawa Dia.
Drew Reeves was selected as the recipient for Lebanon High School after being nominated by Mrs. Woosley and Mr. Joris. Reeves has been a diligent worker and has committed to excelling inside the classroom as well as through extra-curriculars. Reeves has been an active member of DECA and has volunteered for many activities and events to help the chapter.
“He is a very pleasant young man to work with,” the school released. “He works hard and is very dependable.”
Emily Sperry was also selected as a recipient from Lebanon High School after being nominated by Mrs. Woosley and Mrs. Jones. Sperry was described by her nominators as hardworking, determined, funny and trustworthy. Sperry has made a name for herself at Lebanon High School through her classroom work as well as her extra-curricular activities.
“She is on of the most hardworking people in the room and is always determined to give 100%,” the school released. “She is a great role model, both in the classroom and in extra-curricular activities. She is such a light to be around.”
Gabe Thieke was named as the Tiger PRIDE recipient for Lebanon Middle School after being nominated by Team SWAG. Thieke was described as a leader inside and outside of the classroom, especially on the soccer field and the wrestling mat.
“Gabe is respectful to his teachers, coaches and classmates,” the school released. “Team SWAG is beyond proud to call Gabe Thieke our Tiger PRIDE Champion. Great job, Gabe.”
Emma Alexander was also chosen as a recipient for Lebanon Middle School after being nominated by Team Bulldog. Alexander was described as self-motivated and driven to succeed, and she was noted to go above and beyond on every assignment to ensure success.
“Emma has a servant’s heart, helping other students to succeed and by serving in the PBIS group,” the school released. “Emma is respectful, honest and the type of student that teachers love to have in their classrooms. Congratulations, Emma.”
James Custis was named as the recipient for Central Elementary after being nominated by Kim Lahrman, Diana Shirley and Keanna Stamm.
Custis was noted as a student who takes charge and gets started immediately when work is set forth for him to complete, and he was noted to take initiative by not procrastinating or giving up.
“James is a role model not just through his achievements, but through his character,” the school released. “He motivates those around him to be self-driven, diligent, focused and caring.”
Carson Goodrich was recognized as the recipient for Harney Elementary after being nominated by Mrs. Warren. Goodrich was noted as going above and beyond in his daily work and managing his time wisely to balance his schoolwork with his hobbies.
“Carson is also super helpful and kind, always willing to lend a hand to his classmates,” the school released. “He’s a true inspiration to everyone around him with his positive attitude and creativity. We’re so
lucky to have Carson in our class.”
Steele Foster was recognized as the recipient for Hattie B. Stokes Elementary after being nominated by Mrs. Howe. Foster was recognized as striving to make gains academically and socially over the past year and half that he has been in Mrs. Howe’s class.
“He tries new experiences and works hard,” the school released. “He is always doing the right thing and treating people right. He shows his Tiger Pride each and every day. Steele is a remarkable young man.”
Hawa Dia was announced as the recipient for Perry-Worth Elementary after being nominated by Emily Vanatsky, Katie Mezo, McKenna Way and Ryan Christopher. Dia was noted to concistently strive to overcome challenges and excel academically while always being courteous toward her peers, teachers and the learning environment.
Dia takes initiative by volunteering for class activities, taking leadership roles and independently exploring supplementary rresources while showing her determination through a strong work ethic and self-set high standards for her work.
“Hawa’s persistence, respectfulness, initiative and determination collectively contribute to a classroom environment characterized by a strong work ethic, mutal respect and a shared commitment to learning and growth,” the school released. “These qualities make her a standout student who positively influences the dynamics of the entire class.”
