The first Frankfort youth track and field event will kick off on May 3 with students from preschool through fifth-grade being invited to participate.
The Frankfort High School Track team is hosting the first Youth Track Meet on Friday, May 3 with intentions for the event to become an annual meet in the future.
Practice for every event will take place on Thursday, May 2, and the meet will commence on Friday, May 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Frankfort High School track. Athletes must be pre-registered, and the cost for the event is $20 per athlete due at the practice sign-in on May 2.
Participants may choose up to four events to compete in for the meet, and participants will compete by grade level.
Events for the meet will include a 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter dash, turbo javelin, long jump and shot put. All participants will practice for the events with high school staff and athletes.
