Spring Clean up This Week in Frankfort

Frankfort Street Department is offering free drop-off at their location at 905 Burlington Avenue during the week of the City’s Operation Spring Clean-Up for Frankfort residents only that pay for weekly trash pickup. The service is not available for businesses.

Residents can drop off up to two pickup truckloads of materials per residence, including large bulky items such as couches, mattresses, box springs, appliances, carpet, chairs, dressers, and TVs from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Monday – Friday (May 1-5) and on Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. – noon.

Street Superintendent Jason Forsythe said, “Residents must show identification at the gate upon arrival at the Street Department. NO TIRES, remodeling, or building materials will be accepted, including lumber, concrete, drywall, or roofing shingles.”

For those wanting to get a head start on cleaning their properties, Clinton County residents can take advantage of Republic Services Clinton County Landfill’s Spring Clean-Up 2023 with a FREE DAY (one day only) on Saturday, April 29 from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the landfill site at 2701 North State Road 39.

Pickup trucks, family vans, and carloads of items for disposal can be dropped off free of charge that day at the landfill, with no trailers or dump trucks allowed. NO electronics (TVs, computers, etc.), roofing, appliances, tires, batteries, yard waste, or liquids are allowed.

The Farmers Bank will hold their Shred Day from 9-11 a Saturday, May 6th, in front of the Courthouse. They have asked residents not to bring their shred items in plastic bags. There is a maximum of 5 standard boxes, and the event will end once the shred truck is full.
