David L. Moore, 79, of West Lafayette, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at St. Anthony Health Care in Lafayette. He was born March 19, 1945, in Lafayette to Leroy and Martha (Carr) Moore. He married Mary Ruth Primmer. She preceded him in death.
David was a 1964 graduate of East Tipp High School. He went on to serve in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. David worked on the farm with his father, worked in grounds keeping, and worked in maintenance at nursing homes. He had a mechanical mind and enjoyed working on his motorcycle, cars, and tinkering with machinery. He also enjoyed gardening and working with plants and loved riding his bicycle. David never knew a stranger and was a friend to all. If you knew David, you loved David. His simple outlook on life and his pleasant personality drew people in. He will be dearly missed.
David is survived by his brother, Gregory Lee Moore of Lafayette; sisters, Ann Lucille Halsmer of Lafayette, Nan Lucinda Cook of Livingston, Texas, and Jan Luciene Rathwell of Wayne, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
