The Zionsville Parks and Recreation Department has issues a reminder for children and residents in the town to participate in the “100 Hours Outside” initiative for the opportunity to win prizes.
“You track your reading, eating, sleeping and even screen time,” the department released. “When was the last time you tracked your play time?”
The department has challenged residents of Zionsville to log 100 hours outside this summer between May 1 and Aug. 31, and the hours may be satisfied at the numerous events scheduled by the department throughout the summer, such as the bike rides, children’s activities, park tours and much more. Residents may then submit their hours and be entered into monthly drawings that will eventually work toward the grand prize at the end of the summer.
“Everyone wins a summer full of amazing memories,” the department released.
Zionsville residents can register for the initiative for free while others outside of the town may register for a small fee to participate from anywhere, but prizes may only be claimed locally.
Hours logged may include swimming, going on a walk, catching bugs and more. A guaranteed prize will be awarded for hitting 100 hours, and a grand prize will be awarded to the top earner during the summer.
