Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Skinner, 94, of Frankfort, Ind., passed away June 26, 2024 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. She was born on December 14, 1929 in Gary, Indiana to William “Bill” and Bertha (Sturgis) Shannon. She married Roger C. Skinner in 1962 and he preceded her in death in 1997.
Barbara was a 1947 graduate of Frankfort High School and worked for Mallory Controls in Frankfort for 18 years. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Frankfort. Bobbie enjoyed many Indianapolis 500 races over the years. She loved traveling and cooking and will be remembered for her wonderful fried potatoes among other dishes, but her greatest joy was caring for and being around her grandchildren.
Surviving are her Sons: John R. (Nancy) Sullivan of Warsaw, IN, James R. (Joyce) Skinner of Frankfort, IN, and Joseph R. Skinner (Ruth Ann Mitchell) of North Port, FL and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant brother: Richard Eugene Shannon, and sister: Velma Martin.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held in Green Lawn Cemetery, Frankfort.
