The son of the founder of a business that has extended to the Frankfort community through a local branch secured his advancement to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Cole Hocker, the son of Janet Hocker who founded Hocker Title, which has since established a location within Frankfort, secured his bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris after setting a U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials record for the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:30.59.
“The teams at Hocker Title and Hocker Law are beyond thrilled and can’t wait to cheer him on in July,” Hocker Title released.
After leaving Cathedral High School in 2019, Hocker sought to accomplish the unthinkable as he dropped his mile equivalent by 20 seconds within two years, leading him to a sixth place finish at the 2021 Olympics, but a series of injuries in 2022 and 2023 would lead to his extensive dedication and training as he vied for a spot on the 2024 Olympic team.
Hocker, only 23-years old, obliterated the U.S. Olympic Trials record, taking the lead amongst his fellow trial competitors within the first 250 meters, maintaining his dominant run toward victory in 3 minutes and 30.59 seconds at Hayward Field, which was noted as an equivalent of a 3:47.5 mile time.
With his victory, Hocker became the first person to win the 1,500 back-to-back at the trials since Jim Ryun in 1968 and 1972, and Hocker expressed that he is striving for the gold medal this year in Paris.
