Harry Ellis “Sonny” Maxwell, 75, of Frankfort, Ind., died July 27, 2024 at the Indiana Veterans Home, West Lafayette, Ind. He was born February 7, 1949 in Indianapolis, Ind. to Fraser & Caroline (Young) Maxwell.
Sonny attended Frankfort High School and later received his GED. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, from 1968-1970.
He is survived by, 3 Daughters: Amy (Dennis) Coddington of Frankfort, Melissa (Mike) Eller of San Antonio, TX, Kimberly (Timothy) Head of San Antonio, TX, 1 Special Son: Larry “Bucky” Cory of Alabama, 6 Sisters: Caroline Hurt of Frankfort, Peggy Williams of Lafayette, Debby Roush of Monticello, Monica Knuckles of Kokomo, Pamela Maxwell of Lafayette, Mary Jo Mang of Lafayette, 2 Brothers: William (Alice) Maxwell of Florida, and James (Patricia) Maxwell of Reynolds. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn Hudson.
Funeral Services
Private family graveside services were held with military honors at Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations made be made to the family in memory of Sonny to assist with an Appreciation Plaque that will be presented to the Indiana Veterans Home in Sonny’s honor.
