Rossville Consolidated School District Celebrates Educators’ Commitment To Literacy With Science Of Reading Module Completion

The Rossville Consolidated School District announced that several of its educators have successfully completed the Science of Reading training modules, a comprehensive professional development opportunity provided through a partnership between Marian University and the Indiana Learning Lab.

These modules are designed to equip teachers with proven, effective strategies for teaching students to read and are available to all educators throughout the state. Completion of these voluntary modules not only demonstrates a dedication to advancing literacy instruction but also comes with a well-earned stipend for eligible participants.

The teachers who have successfully completed the Science of Reading modules include Alisha Maish and Emily Heater.

The Science of Reading training requires a significant time commitment, discipline and passion for learning, all of which are key qualities that make great educators even greater. The hard work and dedication shown by these teachers are commendable as their new expertise in literacy instruction will directly benefit students and help them master critical reading skills.

“We are incredibly proud of our educators who have completed this rigorous training,” Superintendent Dr. Jim Hanna said. “Their commitment to lifelong learning sets a powerful example for both students and their colleagues, and their enhanced skills will help foster literacy success across our schools.”

In recognition of their achievements, each educator will receive a stipend check, completion certificate and special recognition from the district. Stipend checks have been distributed to eligible educators.
