Frankfort Man Arrested For Domestic Battery, Resisting Law Enforcement

Reports of a domestic violence altercation resulted in the pursuit and arrest of a 22-year-old Frankfort man on Saturday.

On Saturday, Sept. 21 just after 3:45 p.m., Frankfort Police Department officers were reportedly dispatched to the 600 Block of North Jackson Street for reports of a physical domestic violence altercation. As officers arrived, the suspect reportedly fled into the creek and tree line before veering east. The perimeter was set where K9 and drone units would be utilized for the pursuit, but the suspect was not located, police say.

Just before 5 p.m., officers received reports that the suspect was located near Williams Street and Washington Avenue, which led to a response from law enforcement. A short foot pursuit reportedly ensued, resulting in the arrest of Cesar Zamora-Mendez, 22, of Frankfort.

Zamora-Mendez was transported to the Clinton County Jail with requested charges of domestic battery in the presence of a minor, Level 6 Felony, and resisting law enforcement.

The Clinton County Prosecutor is set to review the case and file official charges.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
