Hoosier Heartland Conference Cross Country Meet Results

The Hoosier Heartland Conference Cross Country Meet took place on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Camp Sycamore Valley in  Rossville.

Runners from Clinton Prairie, Rossville, Clinton Central, Eastern, Delphi, Carroll, Tri-Central and Sheridan competed at the race.

Boys 5000 Meters (5k)

Team Results

  1. Clinton Central, 47 – This is Clinton Central’s first team win since 1990
  2. Clinton Prairie, 58 – The Gophers’ Hayden Kemple was the overall winner, finishing with a time of 16:14.
  3. Rossville, 78 – Rossvilles top five runners all finished in the top 22, the only team to hit that mark.
  4. Delphi, 86 – Delphi finished with a total time of 1:37:38, just 16 seconds behind Rossville.
  5. Tri-Central, 105 – Logan Younce finished with a time of 19:12, 1:34 faster than he ran two weeks ago at a tri-meet.
  6. Eastern, 115 – Obadiah Greene finished second, earning an all-conference nod.

Girls 5000 Meters

Team Results

  1. Carroll, 41 – Carroll Finished with three of the top five runners in Salts, Hayden and Nelson.
  2. Clinton Prairie, 43 – Clinton Prairie was the only school with four runners in the top 10.
  3. Delphi, 54 – Sarah Perry and Miley Ayon paced the Oracles, both finishing in the top five.
  4. Rossville, 74 – Natalee Richey, Addi Brunton and Victoria Vanderwall all finished within 34 seconds of each other, placing 12th, 13th and 14th.

Junior High 3000 Meters

Girls

Clinton Prairie takes 1st place as a team for the girls’ junior high race. Emma Grant finished 2nd, Abby Carter finished 9th and Jude Reinhart finished 12th. Delphi had two top-five finishers in Stinson and Anderson. Eastern placed third as a team.

Delphi’s Hernandez took first place. For Clinton Central, Matthew Dunn finished 2nd, Owen Wellman finished 9th and Hudson Neal placed 17th. Eastern placed 2nd as a team.
