Sagamore Conference Releases All-Conference Football Teams

The Sagamore Conference released the all-conference teams on Tuesday.

Lalo Castillo, Jackson Folden, and Marcus Fortner highlight a few of the local players making the list.

First Team:

Frankfort

Running Back/Linebacker – Lalo Castillo, Castillo put together a fantastic season for the Hot Dogs. The senior ended the year with over 2000 yards from scrimmage. Pacing the team with 1320 rushing yards, 490 receiving yards, and 12 total touchdowns. He also got it done defensively, leading the team with 80 total tackles and pitching in three forced fumbles.

Offensive Line/Defensive Line – Dominick Hoskins, The junior was a force on the line for Frankfort. As the center, he helped the team rush for close to 1600 yards.

 

Lebanon

Quarterback – Jackson Folden. Folden led the Tigers’ high-powered offense to an impressive 37.7 points per game average. The senior led the SAC in passing yards with 1910 and fired in 31 passing touchdowns.

Wide Receiver – Kaden Lark. Lark wasn’t just one of the top receivers in the SAC, he ranked top 20 in the state, according to MaxPreps, for receiving yardage with 805 yards. He also reached the endzone 14 times, good for first in the conference.

Offensive Line – Colin Fouts. The senior left tackle was a mainstay in the offensive attack for Lebanon. Fouts helped the offense amass more than 3300 yards of offense.

Linebacker – Levi Poland. Poland collected 50 solo tackles and 83 total tackles, both led the team. The senior also brought the quarterback down three times and recovered five fumbles.

 

Western Boone

Defensive Back – Blake Wasson. Wasson was second on the team with 66 total tackles.

Wide Reciever – Marcus Fortner. The senior caught 35 passes for 467 yards and nine touchdowns while also rushing for 164 yards and two scores.

Linebacker – Marco Velazquez. Velazquez made 54 tackles, including nine for a loss. He also picked off a pass and had one and a half sacks.

Defensive Line/Linebacker – Zander Venis. As a sophomore Venis made 64 tackles and had three sacks.

 

Second Team

Frankfort

Quarterback/Linebacker – Dennis Barkley. The Junior signal-caller threw for over 800 yards and tossed five touchdowns for the Hot Dogs.

Fullback/Defensive Line – Jackson Woods. Woods stepped into a new role for Frankfort as the fullback and lead blocker for Lalo Castillo. Woods also made plays with the ball, rushing for 200 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Lebanon

Wide Reciever – Jacob Jones. Jones caught 24 passes for 380 yards and seven touchdowns.

Running Back – Josh Parks. Parks rushed for 862 yards at a 6.4 average per carry and got into the endzone seven times.

Wide Reciever – Colton Pollard. Pollard was second on the team in yards and receptions with 509 on 29 catches.

Defensive Back – Jay Pollock. Pollock made 28 total tackles from the safety position.

Linebacker – Wayman Younts. The senior linebacker was third on the team with 56 tackles and also had two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.

 

Western Boone

Running Back – Mason Amich – Amich averaged over 110 rushing yards per game and found the endzone 11 times.

Offensive Line – Maddex Gadbury. The senior helped the Stars’ offense rush for over 2000 yards this season.

Quarterback – Brandon Potter. Potter threw for 934 yards and 12 touchdowns while running for 294 yards and four scores.

Offensive Line – Wyatt Dickey – At tackle, Dickey helped keep quarterback Brandon Potter upright and powered the offense to over 3000 yards.
