An investigation continues into the cause of a four-vehicle crash that slowed traffic on I-865 Thursday afternoon in Boone County.
On Nov. 14 just after 4:30 p.m., Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputies were reportedly dispatched to a four-vehicle traffic accident on I-865 westbound where emergency personnel were immediately tasked with assessing the situation and providing necessary assistance.
According to reports, one driver, David Johnson of Indianapolis, sustained serious bodily injuries and was transported to a local hospital for further medical treatment. The other three drivers in the accident, Arnold Bien of Indianapolis, Alejandro Guitierrez-Velazquez of Lafayette and Ryan Wenk of Deltona, Florida, reportedly refused medical attention on the scene.
The department stated that due to the severity of the crash, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was called to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. The investigation is ongoing with further details to be released as they become available.
