An investigation by the Frankfort Police Department led to the arrest of a Florida man on charges of one level 5 felony and five level 6 felonies in relation to fraud and theft in Clinton County.
On Nov. 21, a report was issued to the Frankfort Police Department regarding fraud on a financial institution in the 1800 Block of West State Road 28. On Nov. 27, Detective Josh Danner reportedly was contacted that the suspect was currently in the First Financial Bank in Rossville, and Rossville Police Department officers took the suspect into custody before bringing him to the Frankfort Police Department for questioning, authorities report.
The investigation culminated in the arrest of Joseph Ferrigno, 49, of Florida, and the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office filed charges on Dec. 2.
The charges included fraud where the victim is a financial institution, a Level 5 Felony, theft where value of property is between $750 and $50,000, a Level 6 Felony, three counts of Identity Deception, Level 6 Felonies, possession of cocaine less than five grams, a Level 6 Felony, possession of paraphernalia for introducing a controlled substance into the body, a Misdemeanor.
According to the department, the investigation and evidence will be used by law enforcement in several jurisdictions to bring charges against Ferrigno.
