Andrew James “Jimmy” Jones, Jr., 79, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at his home in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born on June 2, 1943, in Paoli, Indiana, a son of the late Dana A. (Taylor) and Andrew James Jones, Sr.
He married Sue (Kirby) on March 29, 1964; they divorced. On March 3, 1971, he was married to Karen Sue (Teboe); they divorced. He then married Martha “Maggie” (Mitchell) on June 4, 1988; she preceded him in death.
Jimmy was a 1962 graduate of Zionsville High School. He served his country honorably during the Vietnam War in the United States Army from 1968–1976. He worked as a truck driver throughout the years. Jimmy had been a resident of Lebanon since 2010. He was of the Quaker faith.
Survivors include six sons, Andrew (Becky) Jones, III of Michigan, Robert Jones of Lebanon, Charles Jones of New Haven, Johnny Jones of Tennessee, Carl Jones of Anderson, and Kelly Jones of Anderson; several grandchildren including, Maddy Blankenship, Hope Lewis, Gage Lewis, Patience Lewis, Destany Landers, Ashley Jones, Amanda Hirschy, Maggie Laney, Heather Compton, Dennis Rose, Daniel Rose, Aiden Jones, Harley Jones, Logan Jones, Timothy Jones, Michael Jones, Tabitha Jones, Alex Jones, Holden Jones, Joshua Jones, John Jones, Tasha Jones, Leah Estep, Christy Estep, Cole Jones, Amara Jones, and Aubrielle Jones; numerous great grandchildren; and two brothers, Eddie R. (Diane) Jones of Ft. Wayne and Robbie T. (Sue) Jones of Kentucky.
Memorial Service with Military Rites are planned for 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6,2023, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services. Burial of Ashes will take place at a later date at Paoli Community Cemetery in Paoli, Indiana. Boone County Crematory has been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
