Annette Coffman

Annette Dorothy Coffman, 85, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at her home in Thorntown, Indiana.  She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 24, 1940, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mildred (Ruedlinger) Gellner.

On August 5, 1961, she was united in marriage to John M. Coffman in Washington, D.C. They shared 52 loving years before he passed away on February 3, 2013.

Annette graduated from Roosevelt High School in Fresno, California in 1957. Following graduation, she honorably served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962.

She held a position at the Thorntown Garment Factory and worked in several clerical roles, such as medical transcription at Witham Hospital from 1979 to 1981. After retiring, she was employed at Hankins Supermarket, Coffman Automotive, and Thorntown Dry Cleaners.

Annette enjoyed crafting, sewing, crocheting, puzzles, word games, traveling, and loved cooking Sunday dinners for her family. Most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her loved ones.

Survivors include her children, John M. (Janice) Coffman, Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Alice Vansickle of New Ross, and Gary (Kimberly) Coffman of Thorntown; grandchildren, Megan Ninemire, Matthew Coffman, Casey Gonzales, Timothy Coffman, Shari Shaw, Kyle Coffman, Hayley Coffman, and Harley Coffman; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Charlie) Wunderlich of Chesterfield, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

Annette’s wishes were to be cremated. No services will be held. Myers & Hunt Mortuary in Thorntown and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her arrangements.
