Anson Sperry’s love of biking and his completion of a bicycling merit badge gave him the idea for his Eagle Scout project that began in February 2020.

After completing the bicycling merit badge Anson joined a bicycling team called Midwest Devo. From there he joined two other bicycling teams, Nine13 and NICA where he races road, cyclocross, track and mountain biking. While training for his races Anson saw bike stations on other trails throughout the state and thought this would be a great addition to the Big Four Trail.

Anson along with Troop 359, Lebanon Parks Department and family, have spent approximately 192 hours completing this project which consists of 2 repair stands, one at the Menard Trail head and the other at the Thorntown Trail head and the installation of 2 dog waste stations along the Lebanon portion of the trail. Because of the generous donations Anson received for this project he was also able to install a new bench along the trail.

Thanks to the following organizations that helped make this project possible. Witham Health Services, Lebanon Parks Department, Irving Materials, Inc., Bicycle Garage Indy, Hause Surveying and Engineering, Troop 359, family and friends.
