The Boone County Chamber of Commerce announced two new prospective board members while commemorating the dedication and efforts from outgoing board members.
The Chamber announced that President and CEO of Ideal Food Group Chris Canal and Executive Director of Ancillary Services at Witham David Brinkley are potential new additions to the board, and they will be featured during the upcoming Annual Member Breakfast set for Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Canal is posed to bring a vast array of knowledge through his work as the President and CEO of Ideal Food Group. Founded in Indianapolis in 1950, Ideal Food Group is anchored by Ideal Meat and Specialty Food. The group is a third-generation, family-owned business that distributes to retail and food service customers throughout Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Michigan with three of the businesses located in Boone County, including Backroads BBQ, Brick Street Catering and Moody’s Butcher Shop. The Chamber released further information regarding Canal.
Chris is a lifelong Hoosier; born in Terre Haute and raised in Logansport. He and his wife, Melanie, have been Lebanon residents for nearly 10 years. Along with being active within the Boone County Chamber, he’s a member of Lebanon Christian Church and is a supporter of local sports, charities, and not-for-profit organizations. Chris and Melanie have four children, Trevor, Brody, Kenny, and Kendall, who range in ages 9 to 22 respectively.
Brinkley poses a vast array of knowledge in the medical industry through his work with Witham Health Services as the Executive Director of Ancillary Services. Through his occupation, he oversees several departments, which include Radiology, Respiratory, Sleep Lab, Laboratory and Rehab Services. Brinkley also previously served as the Clinical Supervisor at Northwest Radiology for over seven years. The Chamber released further information about Brinkley’s background.
David graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Imaging Technology from Indiana University Kokomo and his Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from Western Governor’s University. Professional affiliations include the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and American Healthcare Radiology Administrators.
David lives in Howard County, where he enjoys spending time with his wife, Carly, and daughter, Saylor. He has worked in Boone County for two years and looks forward to being involved with Boone County Chamber as this area continues to grow.
The Chamber extended a statement of gratitude toward Rebecca Bradley and Mike McKeever for their service as members of the board as they transition out of their positions.
“Their leadership, expertise and dedication have been instrumental in driving our organization forward,” the Chamber released.
The Chamber also extended gratitude to Don Barrett, outgoing Board President, and Katie Sheets, outgoing Secretary.
“Their service and guidance have played a vital role in shaping the success of the Boone County Chamber,” the Chamber released.
Canal and Brinkley will be recognized during the Annual Member Breakfast as new board members are elected and officers are selected for the following year. During the breakfast, winter essentials will be collected for those affected by the hurricane in North Carolina.
