At approximately 6:51 a.m. Wednesday, Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies and Medics responded to the Boone County Jail for a cardiac arrest with no pulse. Prior to arrival, Elton Taylor, 65 years old, of Fort Wayne, Indiana was found unresponsive by Boone County Corrections Officers during breakfast meal pass.
The Corrections Officers notified Boone County Central Communications who alerted first responders. Upon arrival, proper medical attention was provided, and Taylor was pronounced dead on the scene.
This incident is still under investigation by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Boone County Coroner’s Office. The preliminary investigation appears to be due to a medical condition.
