Boone County Purdue Extension Hosts Lunch & Learn For Cooking Tips & Tricks

Purdue Extension of Boone County announced its upcoming lunch and learn where community members may bring their own lunch and join together for a free program revolving around cooking with herbs and spices while also saving money with freezer meals.

The event is set for March 11 with two sessions regarding the topics. During the session, participants will also learn about the health benefits of each herb and spice that is used within the demonstration. The experience will be led by Amanda Marciano-Feutz of Hendricks County.

At 12 p.m., participants will learn about saving money with freezer meals by eating at home with recipes for meals prepared in advance to help put dinner on the table with less time, less money and better nutrition. During the session, participants will learn preparation tips, kitchen tools and recipes that focus on saving time in the kitchen while preparing healthy meals. The session will be led by Diana Stone of Shelby County.

The event will be held at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds in the Farm Bureau Inc. Community Building at 1300 E. 100 S. in Lebanon. Community members should reserve their spot by March 4 by calling the Purdue Extension Office in Boone County at 765-482-0750 or emailing booneces@purdue.edu.
