Boone County ServSafe Food Manager Day Class & Examination Registration Opens

The Boone County Purdue Extension Office encouraged community members to save the date and register early for the upcoming ServSafe Food Manager Day Class and Examination set for March 3.

The training will occur on March 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds Farm Bureau Inc. Community Building at 1300 E. 100 S. in Lebanon.

Attendees who satisfy all the Indiana requirements will become a Certified Food Protection Manager, and the training is designed to satisfy all requirements. The training focuses on foodborne microorganisms and allergens, personal hygiene, purchasing, receiving and storage, preparing, cooking and serving and facilities, cleaning, sanitation and managing pests.

The one-day training includes a manual and proctored exam. Participants must score 70-percent or higher to earn the certificate. The certification is valid for five years.

A photo ID with signature is required to take the exam.
