The Boone County Sheriff’s Office announced the promotion of a well-known figure of the department as he strives to continue his law enforcement career in Boone County.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office announced that Reserve Deputy Doug Gauthier was accepted by the merit board to join the Enforcement Division of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
Gauthier promises to bring numerous years of service to the Sheriff’s Office as he is a retired Captain from the Zionsville Police Department, retiring in 2014 after completing 21 years of service. Gauthier also boasts a resume that includes being a 2009 National FBI Academy Graduate and a Certified Accident Reconstructionist, which the Sheriff’s Office expressed showcases his dedication to law enforcement and professional development.
Gauthier has been a known member of the department as he served as a member of the Reserve Division beginning in January. Sheriff Tony Harris expressed the positives that Gauthier brings to the department.
“His commitment, professionalism and passion for law enforcement have earned him this well-deserved opportunity to continue his service in a full-time capacity,” Harris wrote. “We are proud to have him on our team and look forward to seeing his continued impact on the community.”
