Boone County Solid Waste District Announces 2025 Shoe Collection Sites

Following the closure to sign up as a site last week, the Boone County Solid Waste Management District has announced the collection sites for the 2025 Reuse Heart and Sole Shoe Collection spanning today, Feb. 3 through Feb. 18 as a means of redistributing shoes to those in need within the community and combatting shoe waste in landfills.

Collection Sites:

  • Thorntown Public Library
  • Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Library in Zionsville
  • City of Lebanon Municipal Building
  • Erskine Residence at 1175 John Bart Rd. in Lebanon
  • Hoosier Village
  • Zionsville Christian Church
  • Whitestown and Zionsville American Legions
  • Subaru Plants in Lebanon and Whitestown
  • Lebanon Elks
  • Athletico in Lebanon
  • Central Christian Church
  • Boone County Mibor Offices
  • Witham Family YMCA
  • State Bank in Lebanon and Anson
  • Five Thirty Home
  • Anytime Fitness
  • Western Boone High School
  • Thorntown Elementary
  • Central Elementary
  • Perry Worth Elementary
  • Union Elementary
  • Presbyterian Preschool

All types of shoes will be collected. Donors are asked to tie the laced shoes together. All donations will be sorted by the non-profit Changing Footprints. Pairs in reuseable condition will be redistributed to those in need and tennis shoes that are unusable will be recycled.

The collection will conclude on Feb. 18.
