The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Wind Advisory for all of Central Indiana, including Boone County, from early Sunday morning through early Sunday evening. Sustained southwest to west winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 40 to 50 mph possible.
Besides Boone, other affected areas include Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, Decatur, Delaware, Fountain, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Lawrence, Madison, Marion, Martin, Monroe, Montgomery, Morgan, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Sullivan, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren.
Gusty winds could blow around loose and unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Best chances for gusty winds will be midday Sunday and Sunday afternoon as well as north of I-70.
A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or wind gusts of 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure property that can be easily blown about and damaged.
