Boone County’s Shari Johnson Appointed District Director for Indiana Clerks and Treasurers

The Boone County Economic Development Corporation (Boone EDC) is proud to recognize
Shari Johnson, Clerk-Treasurer for the Town of Advance, on her recent appointment as District 3 Director for
the Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers (ILMCT).
This one-year term places Johnson at the heart of a vital statewide network, where she will serve as a primary
contact for other Clerks and Clerk-Treasurers in District 3. Her responsibilities will include sharing critical
updates—such as reporting deadlines—and offering guidance and support to fellow municipal leaders.
“This appointment was important to me, to show my involvement. I want to be a go-to person for new Clerk Treasurers—not because I have all the answers, but because I can help direct them to people who do,” said
Johnson. “We all want the best for our communities and to make a difference. I hope to be that person. I love
networking and sharing ideas with others.”
ILMCT plays a key role in advancing the professionalism and effectiveness of Indiana’s municipal financial
officers through training, collaboration, and advocacy. With Johnson’s leadership, Advance, Indiana—and the
surrounding Boone County region—gain increased visibility, credibility, and access to best practices and
statewide resources that elevate the quality of local governance.
Boone EDC celebrates this recognition as a testament to the strong leadership emerging from our rural
communities. Shari Johnson’s dedication not only enriches the Town of Advance but also contributes to the
broader mission of economic vitality and good governance throughout Boone County.
