Brenda Lee Black, 56, of Frankfort, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026. She was born in Elwood, Indiana on June 4, 1969, a daughter of the late Wanda Shockley.
She was a 1987 graduate of Kokomo High School. She was also a graduate of Kaplan University with a B.S. in Occupational Safety.
Brenda is survived by her daughters, Heather (Tobias) Shepherd of Lebanon, IN and Brittany (Shelby) Breen of Sheridan, IN; her partner, Greg Black; stepson, Devin Black; siblings, Ann (Donnie) Rayn and Tony Coons; five grandchildren, Rachel and Lewis Shepherd, and Benjamin, Evelyn, and Theodore Breen; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Shockley and her grandchildren, Victoria, Issac, Penelope, and Angel.
Brenda loved gardening, being outdoors and loved her cats and dogs. She was strong in her faith and loved by many. She was short in stature but that never stopped her!
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow services at Browns Wonder Cemetery in Lebanon. We are asking that if you have purple clothing to please wear it, as this was her favorite color.
