The weather forecast for Saturday looks nearly perfect for a Chili Supper, Camp and Astronomy Open House at Camp Cullom. Saturday temperatures should peak in the mid-seventies with sunshine throughout the day and into the evening.
Every year in October during the beautiful fall explosion of colors, Camp Cullom holds its annual Chili Supper. This year the public can roam the 90 acre Camp, play disc golf, use the play ground, check out the trails, go on a hayride with Camp Ranger “Hoppy” and then come to the Lodge for Chili, brownies, chips, hot dogs, chili dogs, drinks, s’mores and more. Check out the silent auction table, too. Tickets are available at the door for $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for Children 5-12 and Children 4 and under are Free.
At dusk, the “famous” Prairie Grass Observatory will come to life with outdoor space movies in the outdoor Galileo Gallery , telescopes, guides and huge binoculars showing you close-up views of Saturn, Jupiter, star clusters, galaxies, meteorites, laser constellation tours and more.
Some Astronomers from the Indiana Astronomical Society, Muncie Astronomy Club and Wabash Valley Astronomical Society will be on hand to answer your astronomy related questions.
Camp Cullom will use all Chili Supper proceeds to continue the work of the Camp which is owned by the children of Clinton County.
Camp Cullom is a United Way for Clinton County Agency and encourages you to give to the United Way if you have not done so this year.
