Carol Gorham

Carol June Gorham (94) of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away in her bed during the early hours of October 7, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard T. Gorham in 2004 after 52 years of marriage. Her death was also preceded by her mother and stepfather, Ruth (Martin) Petzold, father, Lowell Markle, grandparents, Roscoe & Mattie Wyman, and son, Jeffrey H. Gorham.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Gorham of Lebanon; sons, Jon (Jerri) Gorham and Roget R. (Michele) Gorham of West Terre Haute; grandchildren, Stephanie (Chad) O’Neal, Amy Gorham, Martin (Hailey) Gorham, Jeffery T. (Sarah) Gorham, Nathaniel (Jessica) Gorham; step-granddaughters, Sabrina and Erika Valentine; and twelve great-grandchildren, Josh, Kaleigh, Kya, Lexi, Clayton, Hailey, Onalee, Leni, Mavis, Stevie, Kaden, and Madalynn.

Carol was a graduate of Garfield High School in Terre Haute, and a former Boone County Treasurer (1980-1988). She was a founding member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lebanon, former President of the Boone County Republican Women, and held multiple other leadership positions in organizations in Boone County and greater Indiana.

In her spare time, she enjoyed music, reading, crocheting, crafts, and spending time with her grandkids.

Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 950 East Washington Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation from 2:30 p.m. until the time of services. Entombment at St. Peter’s Columbarium. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
