Four Carroll Cougars were awarded with special awards during their annual awards ceremony for the girls’ basketball season for the honor of being chosen as The Farmers Bank Player of the Game for the 2023-2024 season.

Alli Harness received the award for her outstanding place against Clinton Central in November and has broken personal records and has received additional awards that warranted her inclusion in the hall of The Farmers Bank Players of the Game. Harness scored her 2,000th point during her high school career in January against Clinton Prairie, and she was named as a 2024 Hoosier Gym All Star this year with the opportunity to compete in the Hoosier Gym Classic All Star game on Saturday, April 27. Harness acts as only the second Carroll Cougar to receive the Hoosier Gym All Star title, and she is the first since Darlene Zinn in 1977. Harness also received the title of The Farmers Bank Player of the Game in December when she led the Cougars to a win over Lewis Cass with 23 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals.

Laney Johnson was awarded the title of The Farmers Bank Player of the Game during the Holiday Tourney at Carroll High School in December. Johnson was a pivotal player in Carroll’s defeat of University by a score of 58-33 where she scored 8 points.

Madison Wagner also received the title of The Farmers Bank Player of the Game during the Holiday Tourney where she led the Cougars to a 61-53 victory of the undefeated Lady Western Panthers with 20 points scored. Wagner received the honor as well for her performance against Rossville in early December.

Jillian Salts was the last recipient of the award with her performance against Faith Christian in November as well as her performance against Clinton Prairie in January, where the Cougars secured victory by a score of 62-25. Salts remained as a key player in both games, securing the title from casters Don Stock and Karl Kercheval.
