Cheryl Ann (Hacker) Bailey of Frankfort passed away March 26, 2025 at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, IN.  She was born March 5, 1955 in New Castle, Indiana to Kenneth and Sue (Strange) Hacker.  She married Anthony “Dale” Bailey on June 5, 1976 in New Castle and he preceded her in death on July 15, 2007.   Cheryl attended Tri Junior-Senior High School in Straughn, Indiana and graduated in 1973 from Chrysler Memorial High School.  She then attended Covenant Foundation College in Greenfield, Indiana where she met Dale.  After Highschool, she worked for Chrysler in New Castle.  She was a wonderful mother, homemaker and worked from home, doing bookkeeping for Bailey & Son Trucking. Cheryl and Dale held a friendship with Mark and Becky Mowery for 50 years, and they have been business partners with them since 1986 (M&D Associates), where she was the bookkeeper for more than 25 years.

Cheryl is a member of the Frankfort Bible Holiness Church where she was also the church treasurer and organist for many years. Cheryl’s smile could light up any room! She enjoyed reading, attending Southern Gospel concerts, gifting those she loved, celebrating Christmas, and traveling with her grandkids was her most favorite activity.  After serious health issues in 2010, her grandkids were her biggest reason to keep on working hard to recover, including learning to walk again 7 different times! They truly were the light of her life, and she couldn’t have loved them more! The brightest moment was she recently became a great-grandmother.  She never missed an opportunity to tell anyone about her sweet baby Shepherd Dale, or show them his picture.

She is survived by her Father: Kenneth Hacker of New Castle, IN; Son: Jonathan (Julie) Bailey of Frankfort; Daughter: Susan Bailey of Frankfort; Granddaughter: Madison (Jordan) Jackson of Branson, MO; Grandson: Dakota Bailey of Frankfort; Great Grandson, Shepherd Dale Jackson of Branson, MO, Brother: Chris (Mary Jo) Hacker of Hometown, Illinois; Sister: Kim Werking of New Castle, IN; Sister-in-law:  Peggy (Paul) Seeley of New Castle, IN; Sister-in-law: Marsena Proctor of New Castle, IN and Brother-in-law: Mike Werking of New Castle, IN, Step-Granddaughter, Courtney (Drew) DeLoera, also survived by many Nieces and Nephews.  She also loved Rodney Krick and Candice Dahler as her own children.  One of Cheryl’s sweetest joys in recent years was spending time with and loving, three special children in her life: Emma Tucker, Layla Tucker, and Aiden Dahler.

She was preceded by her Mother, Sue Hacker, Husband, Dale Bailey, Brother, Bryan Hacker, Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law, Rev. Wilbur (Sue) Bailey, Brother-in-Law, Mark Bailey and Brother-in-Law, Robert Proctor.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025 with visitation prior from Noon until time of service at the funeral home. Dr. David Fry and Rev. Mark Mowery will officiate the service.
