Chris C. Crosby

Christopher Curtis Crosby, age 56, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away on January 13, 2026, at his home in Vevay, Indiana, surrounded by his loving friends and family. He was born on April 10, 1969, eldest son of Keith Errol Crosby and Deborah Ann McClaskey.

Chris was born in Heidelberg, Germany, where his father was stationed with the United States military. He graduated high school from Lebanon High School in 1987, where he enjoyed playing football and was loved by his classmates.

In his professional career, he worked for several years with the Lebanon Police Department, the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, as well as becoming a professional driver for the United Parcel Service (UPS) of Indianapolis.

Chris loved nature, animals (particularly his dogs, Knoxville and Finnegan), making people smile, and was a highly skilled Leathersmith. He was dedicated to the pursuit of historical reenactment, which was an honorable achievement and passion of his. He was also a dedicated friend and father, possessing many long-term relationships with those he admired and loved the most.

Survivors include his daughter, Hannah Elise Hoover; brother, Chasteven Crosby; mother, Deborah Anne McClaskey; uncle, Danny (Lori) Crosby; stepmother, Janie Brown Crosby; stepbrother, Chad Gates; stepsister, Julie Purnell; and uncle-in-law, David Friesner.

In addition to his father, Keith Errol Crosby, he was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Virginia Gail Crosby and Mary Ellen McClaskey; grandfathers, Glen Curtis Crosby and Merle Eugene McClaskey; aunt, D. Jolene Friesner; and longtime friend, Susan Giger.

A Celebration of Life for Chris will be held and announced at a later date. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his care.
