The City of Frankfort is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $318,441.45 grant from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) through the Community Crossing Grant program. The City will match the grant, bringing the total project funding to approximately $643,441.00.
In addition to the grant funding, the City will allocate an additional $25,000 to pave Walnut Avenue in front of Affordable Auto. This brings the total amount dedicated to road improvements in Frankfort to approximately $668,441.00.
“We are grateful to INDOT for their continued partnership in improving our community’s infrastructure,” stated Frankfort Street Superintendent Jason Forsythe. “These funds will allow us to address critical road repairs throughout Frankfort, making our streets safer and more enjoyable for residents and visitors alike.”
The Community Crossing Grant will be used to fund ten separate road projects throughout the city. The following projects include:
- Magnolia Avenue from Barner Street to US 421/Rossville Avenue
- Morris Street from Barner Street to Green Street
- Hoke Avenue from Washington Avenue to Ohio Street
- McCarty Street from Hoke Avenue to Beard Street
- Harvard Terrance from Clay Street to Williams Road
- Crescent Drive from State Road 28/Wabash to Crescent Court
- Catterlin Street from Washington Avenue to East Green Street
- O’Neil Street from East Armstrong Street to East Boone Street
- Elmwood Drive from Clay Street to Deadend
- Fisher Street from Clay Street to Deadend

The Community Crossing Matching Grant Program provides funding to cities, towns, and counties across Indiana to improve local roads and bridges. This program is a partnership between the Indiana Department of Transportation and Indiana communities to invest in infrastructure projects that advance economic development, job creation, and local transportation.
