Clinton County leaders, employees, and community members gathered this morning to officially cut the ribbon on the new County Annex Building
The event opened with tours of the three-story facility, giving residents their first look at the state-of-the-art building. The ribbon was cut outdoors at 8:30 a.m. The rain let up long enough for guests to gather for remarks and photos.
Jordan Brewer, President of the County Commissioners, said the morning marked the culmination of years of planning. “This has been a long time coming,” Brewer said. “From the demolition of the old bank building to today’s ribbon cutting, a lot of people have put in long hours to make this Annex a reality. We’re excited to finally open the doors and welcome the public into a building that was designed with our citizens in mind.”

County Council President Alan Dunn emphasized the long-term value of the project. “The Annex is an investment in how we serve people,” Dunn said. “By consolidating offices, updating our technology, and creating more efficient spaces, we’re not just improving the work environment for employees—we’re making it easier for residents to get what they need in one place.”

The Annex was built on the site of the former Regions Bank, which underwent a complex demolition beginning in early 2023. It now houses offices including the Auditor, Treasurer, Recorder, Assessor, Area Plan Commission, Surveyor, Veterans Service Officer, the Commissioners and Council, and temporary court and prosecutor spaces while crews renovate the historic courthouse.
