Clinton County Commissioners Approve $100,000 in Community Service Grants for 2026

The Clinton County Commissioners have approved $100,000 in Community Service Grant funding for 2026 to support not-for-profit organizations providing essential services to Clinton County residents.

The Clinton County Council approved the funding, and grant awards were determined following a review of applications submitted by local organizations. A total of $98,000 has been awarded, with $2,000 remaining available for any additional eligible applicants.

“These grants allow us to support organizations doing meaningful work for people in our community,” said Jordan Brewer, President of the Clinton County Commissioners. “We believe these funds will make a real and positive impact across the county.”

The Community Service Grant program supports organizations whose missions align with county priorities and address local needs. As in previous years, the largest grant was awarded to The Crossing School of Business & Entrepreneurship, which provides education, job training, and character development opportunities for students.

Funding for the grants comes from tipping fees at the Walnut Creek Landfill, not county tax dollars. For every ton of waste deposited at the landfill, $2.05 is paid to the County and reinvested into community-serving programs.

2026 Community Service Grant Recipients:

  • The Crossing School of Business & Entrepreneurship – $35,000

  • Healthy Communities of Clinton County – $15,000

  • Paul Phillippe Resource Center – $15,000

  • The Learning Network of Clinton County, Inc. – $13,000

  • Senior Homeowner Assistance for Repairs Program (SHARP) – $10,000

  • Boys & Girls Club of Clinton County – $10,000

Not-for-profit organizations interested in applying for the remaining $2,000 in available funding are encouraged to contact the Clinton County Commissioners’ Office for eligibility and application information.
