Clinton County Property Taxes Due Friday, May 10

The Clinton County Government has released a reminder for community members that spring property taxes are due Friday, May 10

Payments may be fulfilled through the mail, in-person, online or at First Financial Bank in Rossville.

For mailed payments, community members are required to enclose the tax coupon and check before mailing the envelope to 220 Courthouse Square in Frankfort. Envelopes are required to be postmarked on or before the due date, May 10, or late penalties will be applied. For a receipt, community members should include a self-addressed, stamped envelope alongside the payment.

For in-person payments, community members are required to visit the Clinton County Treasurer’s Office on the second floor of the Clinton County Courthouse from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. A drop box is also available to receive in-person payments on the north side of the courthouse building for those paying with a check. All payments require the tax coupon to be included.

For online payments, community members are required to visit clintonco.com, click on the Pay My Taxes Online tab and utilize a credit card, debit card or e-check to complete the transaction. For online payments, a 2.5% charge for credit and debit card transactions alongside a $1 fee for e-checks will be required.

For payments at First Financial Bank in Rossville, community members are required to present the tax coupon and pay the exact amount that is on the coupon. Payments will be accepted during normal business hours.

Spring payments not paid on or before May 10 will receive a five-percent penalty that will be added if there is not a delinquent amount. For those with a previous delinquency or those who complete the payment after June 10, a ten-percent penalty will be added to the amount.

Partial payments do not relieve the taxpayer of late penalties, extra fees or property being subject to a tax sale according to the Clinton County government.

The Treasurer’s Office released a reminder for community members to also prepare for the fall property taxes that will be due on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
